Built between 1899 and 1900, the Waldstätterhof is one of Lucerne’s most historic hotels. In 1923, the Lucerne Women’s Charitable Association took over the building near the train station and opened the city’s first alcohol-free, no-tipping hotel—a bold move driven by a pioneering social spirit.
Over the decades, the hotel has continued to evolve. In 2007, the neighboring building at Zentralstrasse 8 was acquired, significantly expanding the property.
Between 2023 and 2024, the hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation, featuring meticulous attention to detail, modern guest rooms, stylish common areas, and a new highlight: our elegant hotel bar. Today, we naturally also serve alcoholic beverages—tailored to our guests’ preferences.
The Waldstätterhof blends history with the present—right in the heart of Lucerne, warmly managed and modernly equipped.
